Rhyl & District v Harlech Match Report 1/10/2016

Rhyl hold on for tense victory over Harlech SWALEC Division Two North West Match
 
Rhyl RFC claimed a tense narrow 32-27 home victory over Harlech. Harlech had the best possible start with outside half Aeron Griffiths successfully slotting over four first half penalties, but just before halftime Rhyl scored their first points with an unconverted Jack Hughes try for a half time score of Rhyl and Districts 5 - Harlech 12. The visitors also started the second half brightly with an unconverted try scored by Martin Hughes but Rhyl soon replied with another unconverted try by Jack Hughes. However the visitors replied from an unconverted Llion Kerry try but soon afterwards Rhyl scored a further two converted Jack Hughes tries. Rhyl also scored the next points with an unconverted Reeve Wright try.The next points was a successful James Farrell Penalty kick before the visitors managed to secure a losing bonus point with a an unconverted Gerallt Thomas try, but Rhyl held on to secure a tense home victory.
 
Harlech next faces an away cup game at Flint next Saturday 8th October 2016 with a 14-30pm kick off.
