Harlech 22 - Menai Bridge 7

Today the Castle men played host to Menai Bridge in their first home game of the season. The first points of the game were scored by Harlech, a try in the left hand corner by winger Tom Pugh, the conversion was narrowly missed. With Harlech dominating, Menai Bridge managed a break away try just before half time, scored by Dion McGrath, followed by a conversion. However, the Castlemen fought back hard and captain Alex Evans went over for Harlech’s second try of the day, converting it himself, bringing the score up to 12-7 to Harlech at half time.
The second half kicked off well for Harlech with a try by Eilir Hughes. The next frustrating ten minutes was dominated by a series of counter-attacks by Menai Bridge, but unfortunately no score was achieved. Finally the bonus point came with a try by centre Andrew Stone-Williams leaving a final score of Harlech 22-Menai Bridge 7.
Next week Harlech travel to Rhyl (1st of October KO 2.30).
